The Instructional Coaching Communication (ICC) Boot Camp provides three days of learning, awareness-raising, and reflection offering every attendant a deep dive into effective communication habits, beliefs, and skills. Limited to only 30 participants, the goal of ICC Boot Camp is to improve core coaching communication skills.

This is an activity-driven workshop with content related to coaching conversations, and participants will be put in many typical coaching situations. Each conversation will be video recorded so that participants can then watch themselves, reflect, and improve. This reflection element is key feature of the ICC Boot Camp.

Why should I attend the icc boot camp? what topics will it focus on?

Discussion topics include various constructive models for coaching including Appreciative Inquiry, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Coaching. Participants will learn how to:

• Identify their own assumptions within conversations
• Identify micro-narratives that lead to moralistic judgments
• Use essential listening and questioning skills
• Apply strategies for facilitating dialogue
• Communicate succinctly
• Become fully present during conversations

Price includes all required resources for each day, as well as breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

PREREQUISITES:

Although no one is excluded from this event, participants will get the most out of the Boot Camp if they have already attended professional development on The Impact Cycle (Knight, 2008) and Better Conversations (Knight, 2016).
